The Founding Cohort
These are the inaugural cloths recorded by the Registry. More will be added as fieldwork progresses, each one documented with its weaver, pattern, community of origin, and the meaning it carries.

Cecilia Yevu Kente
Cecilia Akpene Yevu is blind, and one of few women weaving Ewe Kente. She wove this cloth by touch, and named it herself.

Fourth Republic of Ghana
Not a rectangle, but a nation: Gator Gbogbo’s Kente traces Ghana’s borders, scatters golden citizens across it, and carries his name in thread.

Susudua Kente Prestige Cloth
Named for the measuring stick that makes it possible: a Bonwire prestige cloth whose weaver is unknown, now held by the Smithsonian.
